In UP, polling for the first phase of Panchayat elections will begin at 7 am tomorrow. Putting an end to rumours of postponing panchayat elections on social media, Panchayati Raj Director Kinjal Singh told Hindustan that chunawa will not be averted. Polling parties have arrived. More than 2.21 lakh posts will go to polls in 18 districts on Thursday in the first phase of Panchayat elections.
According to information received from the State Election Commission office, polling will start from 7 am and will continue till 6 pm. The first phase of elections in four phases will be held in Ayodhya, Agra, Kanpur, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Jaunpur, Jhansi, Prayagraj, Bareilly, Bhadohi, Mahoba, Rampur, Rae Bareli, Shravasti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Saharanpur, Hardoi and Hathras districts. In the first phase, 11,442 candidates are in the fray for 779 posts of Zilla Panchayat Member, 81,747 candidates for 19,313 posts of Area Panchayat Member, 1,14,142 candidates for 14,789 posts of Gram Pradhan and 1,86,613 candidates for 1,86,583 posts of Gram Panchayat Ward Members. State Additional Election Commissioner Ved Prakash Verma said on Wednesday that the polling will be held amid stringent protocol suo-19. It will be mandatory for voters to wear masks and maintain social distance. The Commission has issued an order to cordon off six feet outside polling stations.
He said that during the counting of votes on 2nd May also, the Covid-19 protocol will be fully followed and PPE kits will also be provided if required. The Allahabad High Court had ordered the state government to complete the process of panchayat elections by May 25. This time, bjp, SP and Congress as well as Aam Aadmi Party, Azad Samaj Party and Asaduddin Owaisi led All India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen are also in the fray. Congress spokesperson Ashok Singh claimed that congress will shock everyone in panchayat elections. Reacting to Singh’s claim, state BJP media convener Naveen Srivastava said bjp will clean up the clothes of the rest of the parties in panchayat elections In view of the way Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath have worked for the welfare of the poor and farmers in rural areas, bjp is sure to win the panchayat elections.
During the UP Panchayat elections, all voters from rural areas of the state will go out to cast their votes. During this time the crowd will increase.
